Michael Goulde attended furniture design and fabrication programs at the BU Program in Artisanry and the Museum School in Boston before making custom hardwood furniture and cabinets in Jamaica Plain for several years in a cooperative shop. He has played an important role in building out the Asylum’s Wood Shop facility since its move to Tyler St. He has served as a tester and has taught Rough to Smooth for three years.
Moving beyond the basic operation of tools and into actually building metalwork projects is where many students get hung up on the path to becoming a metalworking master. Streaming from the Artisan’s Asylum metal shop, the Metal Fabrication 101 Instructor will help students take that next step. Students will be able to interact with the instructor to ask questions in real time as he works on camera to build a table from steel tubing using the tools at Artisan’s Asylum, while also demonstrating the same techniques using the common tools you might have in your garage.Find out more »
