Based on early input from regional care providers, members Sarah Miller and Jay Pastry Queen developed a universal protective gown to provide a basic barrier suitable for many non-surgical settings. The team investigated dozens of candidate materials and pricing options and, based on specifications available, selected DeWitt N-Sulate for emergency production. Today we are using Dupont’s Tyvek 12-22A material, which is a rated protective barrier.
Under Sarah Miller’s guidance, the team has developed an extraordinary amount of documentation about the gown production process, which is available here.
Today our gown production efforts are continuing in Allston, thanks to a special collaboration between GetUsPPE.org, Harvard University, and the City of Boston. Get the latest updates on our blog.
