Get Yourself Some Learnin’! Heavy Metal Style

DATE:  November 13, 2014     CATEGORIES:  Current Classes

There are truly awesome classes coming up over the next few weeks. Some new, some old and well-loved, some delicious, some highly dangerous. Some highlights are featured below, but do be sure to check out the full list of classes on the website. Because everything is awesome, and there’s not space for it all here.

METAL \../
There’s so much metal in this place, there’s nothing for it except to learn various techniques for cutting it up and sticking it back together. For cutting it up we’ve got CNC Plasma Cutter Tool Training. Then when you’re ready to affix some of your metal to other bits of your metal, we’ve got a brand new welding class for those of you with some TIG experience: Advanced TIG Welding/ Intro to TIG Welding Aluminum.

LEATHER
Nothing goes with metal quite like leather. Make a leather cover for your metal/glass/plastic thing at Intro Leatherworking Workshop: Make a Gadget Jacket.

BIKES
Naturally, once you’ve got your metal and leather sorted out, you gotta work on your bike. I’ve heard about some notorious biker gangs around this place, so if you’re in the mood for danger check out the special topics Bottom Bracket Overhaul Workshop and the Three-Speed Repair & Overhaul Workshop. If you dare.

JEWELRY
Now that you’ve got your bike in order, make yourself (or the bike) something ostentatious to wear while riding around at the Jewelry Guided Projects Workday.

LIVING THINGS
For those more interested in the human form than ways to decorate it, check out Figure Drawing Sundays. No patience for paper & pen? Check out how computers can help with Organic Modeling Basics: Sculptris and Blender. If you’re more into active cultures than humans, try the Kombucha & Ginger Beer: Introduction to Fermentation Workshop & Tasting. It’s gonna be delicious.

SCREEN PRINTING
And last but not least, become the best giver you know this season with knowledge you put in your brain at Wrap It Up! Screen Print Your Own Wrapping Paper.

Enjoy your ride!
