Class Cancellations & Policies

Class Cancellations

Your class may be cancelled if too few people register. A decision will be made a few days before the class is scheduled to run, and you will be notified of the cancellation and your registration refunded in full.

Class Refunds

To request a refund for a class, please fill out this form. We offer full refunds for any refund requests received more than one week in advance of the class start date.

  • Refund requests within the week before the class start will be dependant on whether there is a waitlist person available to fill your seat.
  • Tickets are not available for any type of transfer or reschedule between any class sessions. We do not offer class credits.
  • Any class change requests (i.e. moving to another session) will require a refund of the class you are already in.
  • No refunds whatsoever are offered for same-day (24 hours before class start) cancellations or any classes that are already in progress. There are no refunds, transfers, make-ups or deferments for missed classes. Instructors may arrange a private session at their shop rate for a makeup lesson at their discretion – contact your instructor to see if this is available.

Artisan’s Asylum reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to low enrollment or other considerations. Communication for canceled and rescheduled classes is sent via email. No refunds or credits are given for rescheduled classes or changes to instructors.

    Youth Policy

Youth under the age of 18 are welcome as visitors in the space if they are under the direct supervision of an adult, whether as guests of a member or attendees of an event. They cannot wander around the space unsupervised, take any classes, or use a membership. They cannot operate any Artisan’s Asylum tool or enter the shop areas, unless as part of an event that carries its own appropriate insurance. Events that are specifically for attendees under 18 will be advertised as such.

If you’re looking for an activity for your child we recommend Parts and Crafts located one block away on Somerville Ave.

    Photo Policy

We may occasionally take pictures of students in our classes for use in promotional materials. Your enrollment in a class indicates your approval for this.

    Weather & Emergency Closures

In general, we remain open for classes as long as the MBTA remains open: MBTA Winter Weather page is here. Closures will be posted to the front page of the website, and you will be contacted if your class is affected. Please keep an eye on our calendar, your email and phone for any notifications, and contact your instructor with any questions about a class in which you are currently enrolled.

Please see our wiki for information on cancellations and policies for memberships and rentals.

    Evaluations
