Watercolor painting offers some of the most immediate and exciting results in art-making. In this class, we will explore brushstrokes, textures, washes and the wonderful color effects that can be achieved with overlapping transparent brush strokes. Beginners are encouraged to attend as well as those with some experience.
Students will learn techniques unique to watercolor such as washes, textures, and color mixing. Students will learn elements of composition, color theory, and textures. Participants will be encouraged to experiment and discover their own personal style. We will looks at watercolors by the masters for inspiration.
Water containers, spray bottles, and hand-outs will be provided.
Bring any supplies you have on hand. Artist and Craftsman in Central Square will put together a kit for you to purchase (not required). The kit was assembled for this class according to the instructor, Barbara Marder, and will be sold at a large discount to Artisan Asylum participants. Call (617) 354-3636 to order.
