In this two-part workshop, students will bend, shape and mold wire to their heart’s delight to make a frightening wire sculpture just in time for Halloween! Imagine a monster and figure out how to bring their horror to life through wire and paint. Using wire and the techniques learned at the start of this workshop, create a wire monstrosity that attaches to a wooden stand for display.
By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of the basics of metalworking, how to construct with wire, and how to create simple scenery. Students will focus on the metal aspect of the sculpture and how to work with pliers. Afterward in the second segment of the workshop students will finish up their sculptures and paint their wooden stands before assembling the entire piece. They will take home their completed and posed monstrosity.
$10 payable to the instructor at the start of class.
Saturdays; 10/17/20 – 10/24/20 from 1PM-3PM
