Metalworking 102 provides training on the safety and operation of the larger, more useful, and more difficult to operate equipment in the metal shop.
We’ll cover the safe and effective use of:
Uni-Hydro Iron Worker
Scotchman cold saw
Sheet metal foot shear
Sheet metal brake
The instructor will demonstrate safe and successful usage of each tool, provide guided instruction for each student on the tools, and inform the class of unsafe/undesirable outcomes.
The instructor will provide the metals for use in the tool training. Artisan’s Asylum will provide the needed safety equipment.
Required Dress Code:
-Cotton clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Avoid synthetics, which will burn/ melt.
-Long sleeves and pants
-Something to cover your hair: Elastic, scrunchie, hat, bandana, etc.
This class runs 2 Saturdays starting March 9 @ 2PM
