In this class, students looking to take their leatherworking projects into a third dimension will learn to create a leather toiletry kit (a.k.a. a Dopp Kit). New skills introduced in this class include making box corners, attaching zippers, and new edge finishing methods. Students will design their own bag template based on the size of the bag that they would like to make and we will discuss how making a three-dimensional bag is different than a flat wallet.
Using the skills learned in leatherworking 101 and 102, students will make a three-dimensional bag from scratch. We will start by making paper templates to understand box corners and then move on to assembling the bags with chrome-tanned leather.
$25 payable to the Instructor at the start of the class; this fee covers all materials used during the session.
Leatherworking 101 and 102 or knowledge of basic leatherworking skills are required for registration.
