Kids will learn how to create their own stop motion animated films using their smartphone or tablet device. During the online sessions, we will review many different styles of stop motion animation and the techniques designers use in creating their film. Students will learn how to design their characters, use household objects for set design, and use storyboards to map out their narrative. This workshop is the first step in understanding the mechanics of stop motion animation using a mobile device.
The class will include two 1-hr sessions with the Instructor as they design their stories and setup their animation, and will include a Watch Party were they can share their final movie with the class. Students are encouraged to use their imagination to bring items in their own homes to life!
This class is most appropriate for kids 7 – 12 years old.
