Come get started learning embroidery techniques in a 2.5hr workshop on the Artisan’s Asylum loading dock. We’ll be making small embroidered patches that you can stitch onto everything from a backpack to a jean jacket. Together we’ll try a few techniques to design, layout and embroider the patch of your choice. Participants can select from a variety of designs provided to everyone in the class, or bring in their own simple design. Patches are a fun way to highlight an accomplishment, celebrate a life moment or tell a quick story through a single image. What story do you want to tell?
In this workshop, you’ll spend time learning to hand sew, a handy skill to learn and a therapeutic hobby for many. We’ll go over the basic techniques to kickstart your project and get you on your way to show off your embroidered patch to friends and family.
This class is held in the Artisan’s Asylum loading dock with access to large exterior doors for ventilation.
