Leatherworking 101: Make a Belt

Class fee: $55 / Materials fee: $25. Over the course of 2 to 3 hours, this class aims to teach students the basics of leatherworking. This class will walk students through creating a basic belt design.

Upcycled T-Shirt Basket

In the first session students will make yarn with their own old t-shirts. Then they will learn how to make a basket base with clothesline. In the second session, students will learn to various patterns possible with the twining technique and how to make a rim to finish the basket.

Rock the Serger – Make A Zippered Pouch

Class fee: $50 / Materials fee: $5. Interested in taking your sewing skills to the next level? A serger is a machine that trims the fabric, creates a seam, and overcasts the edge, all in one step. When used in tandem with a traditional sewing machine, the serger can increase sewing speed while simultaneously adding a professional touch to the project.

What do you need to protect from the weather, dust, abrasion? Make a cover for your bike, side table, hand/power tools, computer or musical instruments. Learn how to select the right fabric, measuring and patterning, using the industrial machines safely - this class takes you step by step.

Leatherworking 102: Make A Wallet

November 16 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Class cost: $100 / Materials Fee: $35 Expand on basic skills learned in Leatherworking 101 and learn new skills such as hand stitching, creating pockets, and finishing natural leather with oil. Students will be able to choose from a small selection of designs to create a wallet from a pre-made template that they can modify. This class should run for about 3-4 hours depending on if students want to stay to finish their stitching.

Learn to Knit

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn to knit! Ever wanted to knit yourself a hat, sweater, scarf, or toy for your cat? We'll teach you! We'll provide the yarn and needles, you just bring your hands and some patience. No experience required, just willingness to play with sticks, yarn, and the realization that it will seem awkward at first

Weaving 101

November 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This class is great for beginners interested in learning the basic characteristics and functions of the medium through step by step instructions. Students will be introduced to supplies, how to use and take care of supplies and best studio practices. The class is an introduction to the methods and applications of the primary textile construction technique of weaving. Students will create their own artwork using these traditional skills.

Embroidery 101

December 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Have you been interested in picking up embroidery and don't know where to start? If you've been looking to take up stitching, and want to get a handle on the basics, this is the class for you! Embroidery 101 will introduce you to the foundation of hand embroidery so that you can master your first stitches and develop your own style. Participants will learn how to plan and implement a design on a hoop.

Bag It – Sewing 101 Class

December 11 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Learn to use the fiber arts sewing machines and make a bag to keep in your car for groceries or your boots and mittens. This three-hour class will introduce the basics of planning a project, how sewing machines work, terminology, and how to make really useful things. Take your completed bag home at the end of the class.

Letter Necklace – *Holiday Gift Idea!*

December 12 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Class fee: $165 / Materials fee: $30. Create a one-of-a-kind Letter Necklace with the initial of your choice. You’ll handcraft the letter pendant using eco-friendly recycled sterling silver and be provided with an 18” chain to complete the necklace. No experience necessary.
